Project overview
Brief
We were commissioned as the cinematography partner by Director Abhineet Dang to capture the essence and highlights of the LGBTQ+ Matters Hackathon organized by FNF South Asia in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Our goal was to document the event and create a compelling visual narrative that showcased the energy, creativity, and inclusivity of the hackathon.
Idea
1. Pre-production: Before the shoot, we collaborated with Director Abhineet Dang and the event organizers to understand the objectives, schedule, and key moments of the hackathon. We also conducted location scouts to identify the best vantage points for capturing the event. 2. Cinematography Planning: We developed a shot list ensure that we captured the key activities, interactions, and emotions throughout the hackathon. We focused on filming the participants' engagement in brainstorming activities, mentorship interactions, and the overall vibrant atmosphere of the hackathon. 3. Interviews: To provide a deeper insight into the event, we conducted interviews with participants, organizers, and mentors. These interviews aimed to capture personal stories, experiences, and the impact of the hackathon on the LGBTQ+ community in Sri Lanka.
Result
The final deliverables included a high-quality video capturing the highlights of the LGBTQ+ Matters Hackathon. We also made on-site videos of Finalists journey (Thanks to lightning speed edits by the amazing Abhineet Dang). The videos were intended for promotional purposes, sharing on social media platforms, and further advocacy efforts. We successfully captured the event's energy, creativity, and inclusivity. Through our footage, we aimed to inspire viewers and raise awareness about the significance of LGBTQ+ inclusion and innovation in South Asia.
