Brief
The project was a film shoot conducted in Bhuj, Gujarat, focusing on the Akshaya Patra kitchen. The film revolves around showcasing the vital role of the kitchen in providing hot, nutritious, safe, and delicious mid-day meals to 23,500 children across 177 schools in the Bhuj region. This particular kitchen is the 42nd centralized kitchen established by The Akshaya Patra Foundation.
Idea
To create a comprehensive narrative, the approach involved gathering perspectives from various stakeholders involved in the process. Interviews were conducted with the kitchen staff, including cooks, helpers, and the kitchen manager, to understand their roles and experiences. Additionally, interviews were conducted with the drivers responsible for delivering the food and the individuals serving the meals in the schools. Furthermore, the project aimed to capture the voices of the beneficiary children, their aspirations, and their feedback on the food provided by the kitchen. By including their perspectives, the film seeks to highlight the positive impact of the Akshaya Patra kitchen on the lives of these children.
Result
In summary, the project documented the operations and impact of the Akshaya Patra kitchen in Bhuj, Gujarat, through interviews with the kitchen manager & staff, drivers, school servers, and beneficiary children. The film sheds light on the importance of the kitchen in providing nutritious meals and empowering the lives of thousands of children in the region.
